Fish paper and the rotor skid pan

During generator rotor maintenance, removal and installation, a skid pan may be used as part of the equipment handling procedure. Fish paper can be used as a lining to help protect surfaces, including stator core areas, during rotor handling. The equipment manufacturer’s instructions, site procedures and project specifications govern the application.
Choosing fish paper for the job
Light-gray plain fish paper options include a 30-inch-wide, 30-foot-long, 30-mil roll and 30-inch-wide, 25-mil rolls in 20-foot and 25-foot lengths. See the product pages for current availability and pricing.
A two-layer option in development
We are developing plain dark-green 15-mil fish paper. Two 15-mil layers provide 30 mil of actual fish paper. Customers would apply their own adhesive to secure the first layer to the skid pan and the second to the first. Stock and pricing are forthcoming.
